Kluber Constant GLY 2100 for Studer tape recorders.
Studer tape recorders were designed to work all day, everyday in recording studios and broadcasting organisations around the world, often in less than ideal conditions.
In order to uphold their legendary reputation for quality and reliability, Studer engineers went to a lot of trouble to ensure that the main capstan motor would always work reliably and noiselessly. So if your capstan motor has the orange label specifying Kluber Constant GLY 2100, that is what you need to use.
Don’t think about using inferior substitutes such as 3-in-1, WD-40, sewing machine oil, or even Mobil One!
As bearings are repeatedly started and stopped, their speed varies or their sense of rotation is continuously reversed, the hydrodynamic oil film in the friction point will collapse at intervals. If this goes on for a certain period of time, premature wear will be the consequence. To reduce this effect, CONSTANT GLY 2100 contains an additional soap such that mixed friction is largely prevented.
The advanced speciality lubricant design provides lifetime lubrication over a wide service temperature range, with added reserve capacity for low temperatures.
The excellent anti-corrosive effect of CONSTANT GLY 2100 fluid enables trouble-free operation of both iron and bronze bearings.
