When I was young, all of my cousins had nice tape recorders(Grundig), and my sister’s boyfriend had a really nice tape recorder(Akai) and my best mate at school also had one(Akai), but I just did not have the resources at age fourteen, neither could I convince my parents to buy one for Christmas.
Scarred for life by this, I have always lusted after tape recorders and now have a couple of Studers in need of restoration. They were both working when I first got them about twenty years ago, but with one thing and another, they have spent around ten years in storage and now need some repair.
